OUR VALUES

HANDMADE

Every garment is hand-made, and a minimum of equipment is used in its production which allows us to reduce carbon emissions.

GOOD WORKING CONDITIONS

It's extremely important for us to provide decent working conditions - safe jobs, competitive wages, paid vacations.

ZERO WASTE

We call our production zero waste as we only produce on order. We keep a minimum stock for our store where you can try our designs. From the rest of the fabric we produce scrunchies.

TIMELESS

We support slow fashion and strive to create pieces that will last for years.

ENVIRONMENTAL & SOCIAL IMPACT

Materials

To create our garments we use mainly dead stock fabric and OEKO-TEX certified fabric (meaning these textiles do not contain harmful substances and are completely safe to human health.).

Circularity

To reduce clothing and textile waste, carbon footprint and other negative environmental impacts, we at MEIJERHOF are embracing the circular economy — a shift from the “take-make-waste” linear system to a restorative one that designs out waste, keeps materials and products in use for as long as possible, and regenerates the environment. Although recycling is considered to be an important component of sustainability, we take circularity much further by bringing the concept of reducing waste to the beginning of the design process.

Locally made

MEIHEJERHOF is committed to local production. All garments are made in our own atelier in Romania. Every piece is hand-crafted by a single artisan with the minimal involvement of machinery which allows to reduce carbon emissions.

Reducing Waste

In principle, there is less to zero waste in our production. We produce as many clothes as we sell. With all the fabric scraps we make scrunchies, scarfs, hair bands, belts, etc.
